Beginning an affiliate marketing industry can be difficult. It’s a reliable business opportunity, but it’s definitely not a “get rich fast” program, yet many people forget about it as soon as they start their business and soon get frustrated if they don’t make money within a
People give up too early, some after a few weeks, because they actually don’t understand how the business works or what they need to succeed.
Even if you spend the first six months, there is a strange place where many people arrive in this area, as if you were in the midst of an old, rickety rope bridge. You are actually not halfway, so you genuinely cannot see the other side well.
You never have to go back because you have spent so much money as well as time in this very business, and yet you doubt if perhaps the bridge will help you get to the other side.
You Have To Focus On The 5 Pillars Of Progress For Affiliate Marketing.
These are the basics on which your business builds, the things that will help you grow and ultimately lead to your business success.
If you are still struggling with your motivation at this point, read on to find out how to get yourself motivated to go to the other side of the bridge.
Pillar Number 1. Faith
I know that the affiliate marketing model works for an online business.
I know this because I experienced it personally and talked to many other people in the industry who showed that it works again and again.
There are many people who make a full time living with the affiliate marketing model. If you want to know more about how much you can earn, look at these honest Wealthy Affiliate members and some of their very publications to other members:
==> AUGUST 2018 – $4.9K
Apparently, these are persons from my Wealthy Affiliate training recommendation; however, there are many others who make money online by creating a successful internet business.
What’s so great is that I can track these persons progress through their own blogs and they are always encouraging. If you don’t have access to such, you should keep in mind that Affiliate Marketing is a legitimate business opportunity.
Pillar Number 2. Patience
Patience is crucial in any business, not just in the online business, and yet many people fail because they never have enough patience.
When you start an online business, everything is interesting, exiting and new. There’s a buzz you get when you do something completely different out there, and that keeps you active for the first month or perhaps two.
There is a lot to learn and you start out your site, choose a specific niche and learn the basics.
After this period, the routine can be set because it is possible that you have not seen much return on your time and that you are seriously involved in writing content for
At this point, you really start to believe that affiliate marketing is not going to help you quickly because, to be honest, we all say that and we actually understand: we were thinking to make big cash in 6 just months.
Instead, you really start to understand what it takes to make your business a success, and many people question if they can do what the affiliate marketing requires.
Affiliate marketing is definitely not a rip-off, but it takes a lot of courage to cross the proverbial rope bridge and keep going. Slow and constant, it’s just that way.
There are no easy way: each site needs time to establish itself on the search engines that guide the traffic. You need proof that your site deserves attention, and these things cannot be rushed, no matter how much SEO or backlinks you add.
There are many blogs that suggest that there is steady progress around the 6 to 12 months, and after the 12 to 18-month mark, traffic is increasing so that by the end of the second year, your site should attract a good number of daily visitors.
Keep in mind that EVERY business takes time to establish itself, and affiliate marketing is no different.
Because it’s so easy to set up in affiliate marketing, people seldom think that everything will be so easy and the work is insignificant. This is a wrong view. It takes work and discipline, and the trick is to remember daily to be patient. This is crucial.
Pillar Number 3. Consistent Writing
This Number 3 pillar is important simply because your publications are the backbone of your site. If you don’t regularly add relevant and quality content, you will not achieve anything.
You can have a great theme, a perfect niche, and an amazing name, but the phrase “content is king” must be respected and that’s why people visit your site.
Wealthy Affiliate recommends adding 2 – 4 good content each week; this is obviously every two days. Some people have much more to do, but many people struggle and write less.
That’s okay, because it’s not a career, and most people who start affiliate marketing do it in their spare time while having a full-time job or part-time.
Each person has a different time for their business, but the consistency is amortized. If you only write just 1 or maybe 2 posts a week, you can still make it work, but it will take longer to reach your goals. That might be good for you and yet you understand that it is good.
The only thing that is not right is to stop writing, getting distracted or giving up. The old adage “Winners never give up and people who give up never win,” applies to affiliate marketing.
If you’re having trouble starting to write things on your own, consider hiring people to write posts so as to keep adding new content to your site. This is what many people do with a second or third site once they have succeeded with their very first site, but their ability to outsource content obviously depends on their budget.
Pillar Number 4: Education
This is important in every business. Depending on your starting point, the learning curve for affiliate marketing can be abrupt, but it’s also fun.
Every day I learn something new and I love it.
Things are changing, algorithms are being updated, new add-ons are available and the online business market is changing with fashion trends, legality and politics like any other company.
The good thing is that you can bring new challenges and fantastic new opportunities every day. If you have the right support and education, you can always keep up.
That’s one of the benefits of joining a community of like-minded entrepreneurs like Wealthy Affiliate, rather than trying to learn it all yourself. Yes, information is available, but it takes a lot of time to separate the “chaff”, and it’s a lot easier if you ask a question directly and get an updated response in minutes.
But if you are involved in affiliate marketing training, I urge you to continue to learn about the latest laws, trends, and opportunities.
If you fall behind with this pillar, your foundations will diverge and you can easily be on an unstable basis.
An example of this was the recent changes that came into force with the recent legislation, that’s European GDPR legislation. I cannot tell you how happy and relieved I was to check with others and see how I can navigate the minefield of this law.
There is so much to learn that sometimes I feel overwhelmed and I never know who to turn to. There is also a tendency to try to learn all at once and to do everything, but now I learn that this is not possible, and therefore focus on some things at the right time; I hope to master them, and then continue with the next one.
I think that’s one of the most important things I’ve truly learned. It’s a matter of Slow and Steady that wins the race.
Pillar Number 5.
Your Reason For Starting A Business
Let’s be honest: One of the reasons I started an online business was to make more money, that’s no secret.
For most people, this is the main reason why they start. But if that was the only reason I could have got a second job or a promotion in my current career. As a teacher, there are ways I could easily have done if I really wanted to.
But I also started my own business because I wanted to improve the QUALITY of my life, which meant that I wanted to quit every day, stop working for someone else and have more freedom in terms of time and place. Affiliate marketing is one of the best business models to give you these things.
One of the best ways to stay motivated is to remember the reasons why you started: What did you want to achieve and what did you want to do for yourself and your family?
I can tell you that I really want more time for my family, I would like to take my girls to Africa on a jeep safari, and I have always dreamed of taking my mother to see the Northern Lights. These are the things that move me when things get difficult.
Affiliate Marketing is my life now. I love it and will not give up that fast.
But I can still see that there are times when I need to remember the pillars of success.
And as I walk slowly through this “old as well as battered bridge,” the more I move forward, the more I can feel the pillars supporting me, and with each step, the bridge becomes more and more stable. And I know that someday I’m going to reach my destination on the other side soon. And I also like to take you with me.
